Description
Hey team! π¨βπ» We've noticed something that's affecting our players' sense of accomplishment, and I'd love to get this on our radar.
Right now, when a player earns prestige (that exciting moment where they reset to unlock new content!), their achievements are getting wiped along with their progress. This feels really disheartening β all those hard-earned badges and milestones just vanish, even though the player has legitimately earned them.
The intention is clear: prestige should unlock new challenges and let players experience fresh progression, which is awesome! But achievements represent a player's entire journey, not just their current run. They should carry that sense of accomplishment forward, even as they start fresh with the prestige system.
Current behavior: Prestige event triggers β achievements reset to zero
Desired behavior: Prestige event triggers β achievements persist across prestige levels
This small change will make the prestige feature feel rewarding rather than punishing, and it reinforces that a player's journey matters.
Acceptance Criteria
Note: If there's a specific reason achievements were originally tied to prestige resets, I'd love to understand that context β sometimes there's a design reason that isn't immediately obvious! Let's make sure we're solving this the right way. π
